Variables
Values that live on the board across actions and loops.
Workflow variables are values the board keeps for the whole run — across every action and every loop back to Start. Use them for counters, the last reading, a mode switch…
Create one
In the sidebar, under Variables, press +. Give it a name, a type and, optionally, an initial value:
| Type | Holds |
|---|---|
number | A decimal number |
integer | A whole number (32-bit) |
boolean | true / false |
text | A string — up to the platform's value size (64 bytes by default) |
A variable with an initial value is set when Start runs, so every run begins from the same state.
Write and read them
- Write — add a Variables → Set node: it stores a value (a literal, a binding, Code…) into the variable you pick.
- Read — bind any configuration to the variable, or read it in a Code field with
ctx.var("name").
In MicroPython, context.get("name") falls back to the variable when no config or output of that
name exists, and context.variable("name") reads only the variable.
Capacity
The board holds 16 variables by default. A Set past the limit goes out Fallback — raise it in Platform limits if you need more.
